The first Vincent Nap Earthday Celebration was held in 2003. It was intended as a way to give something back to the community. Since then, it has steadily grown into an event made possible only by community involvement and effort. The Earthday Celebration has become an established event where the public can expect to mingle with artists and performers, and be treated like celebrities by celebrities. This year, the Vincent Nap Earthday Celebration is striving to raise awareness and gain support for the Need More Love Campaign; a community movement founded by Vincent Nap in 2004. The Campaign grew out of one man's personal effort to end the increasing knife crime and violence in London by actually doing something about it. Nap would work one-on-one with local youth, assisting in any way he could to motivate them into making positive decisions and right choices. "Need More Love is really an ongoing movement to spread the word of harmony and love. There is just too much aggression on the streets, so it is all about the idea of working together and approaching issues with a positive rather than negative vibe; which can be more productive and change lives." Vincent NapInspired by the positive effects of Nap's message and actions, members and friends of the community, along with professionals, performing artists, and business owners now contribute their time, effort, and talents to make the Need More Love Campaign a worthwhile and productive cause which serves the local community. In its simplest form, the Need More Love Campaign may be described as "people helping people." Radio personality, Digital D, of Beat FM says, "It is good for the community, and I hope it will have their support."Vincent Nap, a former professional cricketer for Northamptonshire, has been on the Reggae circuit for over 25 years. The father-of-two, and grandfather-of-one resides, with his wife, in Ladbroke Grove.
